Los Angeles is filled with excitement! It’s the city where people travel from far & wide to see! Quite often tourists only get a chance to stop and take pictures by their favorite star on Hollywood Blvd. In The Know With Yo is changing the way people find events!

For those that aren’t familiar, who are you, where are you from and what do you do?

My name is Yolanda Warren. I was born and raised in Conway, AR. After graduating High School in 2000, I moved to Dallas, TX for a change of scenery and to start adulthood in a new city. In August of 2000, I met my husband. In January 2001 we were married! And 20 years later we are still going STRONG. In 2005 we decided we wanted a change of scenery and new experiences, so we packed up and moved to Los Angeles, CA. The Los Angeles scene was so new, hip, and inspiring, we decided to put a fork in it and now it is home. I am currently a Sr. Administrator in Corporate Logistics and Traffic at Warner Bros. My 2nd job is managing 2 businesses In the Know with Yo and newly birthed Snatch Back Tea.

Can you give us a brief history of In The Know with Yo. What inspired you to create an innovative way for people to learn about what’s happening in Los Angeles?

In the Know with Yo started because my friends inquired how I was attending a lot of events and taking pictures with several celebrities. For the most part, many of the events I was attending were work-related because I work in the Entertainment Industry. Initially, it was just a hobby and me sharing events with friends. I was sharing so much so that friends and my husband said I should start a business. On July 11, 2016, In the Know with Yo was born. Today, 100% of my (2,800) membership has come from word of mouth and the support of my friends and family.

How has your experience working with Warner Brothers provided you with insight on different events and opportunities?

Warner Bros is truly a blessing. February 22, 2021 I will be with the company for 15 years!! Warner Bros. provides so many opportunities for employees to get involved. I am a member of all the Business Resource Groups. I served 6 years on the Board for Black Employees. I am an active member with our volunteer program — WB Impact. I take advantage of everything that is provided to me. The various events I have been so fortunate to attend have put me in the room with Celebrities, Executives, and the Hollywood Elite.

The black talent groups within your company seem to be very progressive from a birds eye view. Talk to us about how networking has been essential to building your business.

I had to learn how to come out of my shell and become a “Networker”. Serving on the Board for Black Employees for 6 years has helped me do just that. Without that structure and networking opportunities, I don’t think In the Know with Yo would exist today. I have made so many connections and built so many great relationships.

Where do you see In The Know With Yo 5 years from now?

I see In the Know with Yo being a fully operational Events Concierge, continuing to provide access to some of the Hottest & Exclusive events in Los Angeles & Hollywood.

What can we expect to see from your business this year?

This year I will continue to build my social media presence and provide my membership with some of the best virtual events and happenings.

What are some of the challenges you have faced in creating your business?

For the most part, it has been a smooth road because of the help and support of my husband who is an Entrepreneur who has given me a lot of advice and assistance along the way.

With everything being closed due to COVID-19 how important is it for the public to be connected to something that keeps them informed about what’s still happening around them?

2020 stopped us dead in our tracks. There is still a lot going on with virtual events now-and-days. It is very important to stay connected by attending virtual workshops, seminars, watch parties, concerts, etc.

If you could give 1 huge piece of advice to an aspiring entrepreneur, what would that advice be?

Just start. I will say that starting a business takes a lot of commitment, consistency, and dedication. You have to have a passion for what you are doing, or you will easily become burnt out.
